Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Don’t Live

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is one of the most controversial pieces of military policy out there. It’s a federal law signed by President Bill Clinton in 1993 that prohibits members of the military from speaking out about homosexuality, i.e. one’s personal relationships; and prevents military superiors from actively investigating a serviceperson’s orientation without cause. The idea is that gays can serve in the military as long as they make no indication of their sexuality–that is, stay very deep in the proverbial closet.

Iowa Wins at the Universe!

Feed me garlic and call me stinky, you guys, IOWA is now the third state to allow gay marriage! In 21 days, same-sex couples will be allowed to be married with all the same rights and privileges as a non same-sex couple. Go Hawkeyes! When celebrating over this with a friend of mine, I was also informed that Iowa was the first state to legalize mixed-race marriage.
