This past Friday, I had the privilege to attend Basic Rights Oregon’s (BRO) Standing Out for Equality event in Salem, Oregon’s capitol. It was an action-packed day, lobbying for two upcoming bills: HB 2599, an safer schools bill which would force schools to adopt and enforce strict rules on taking action against bullying; and HB 2839, which will shore up domestic partnership laws.
